Julissa Guajardo

Born and raised in Houston TX, Julissa Guajardo began doing scripted home videos as a child casting cousins into wild dramas that never made it out of the camera before entering Cy-Ranch's Audio/Video Production Class, where they were able to receive the Adobe Certified Associate in Video Editing using Premiere Pro in 2015.

After graduating with this new and growing skill, Guajardo helped build out the branding, marketing, and serving tacos at their family's restaurant, Taqueria Los Tamales, then taking on a variety of gigs and part-time work that expanded on their creative process, leadership, and communication, while pursuing two degrees from Lone Star College.

In 2021, Guajardo graduated with an Associate of Arts, then an Associate of Applied Science in Video & Post-Production in 2024.

Now, Guajardo works at Lone Star College Cy-Fair as Coordinator III for the Learning, Engagement, and Learning Center creating promotional and instructional media for internal employees. They are also the co-founder of the Houston Film Scene, an organization dedicated to cultivating the local independent film industry to showcase our city's diverse culture in front of and behind the camera.
